Profile problem but can't fix

I've tried to change the email on my profile to my correct current email address but the site will not permit this.

It offers two excuses: (1) Another user has that email address, and (2) my password and password confirmation don't match.

Re (1): I myself am that other user. I'd like to kill off "that other user" and reclaim my own email address. The original registration got screwed up because the confirmatory email from the Forum got lost temporarily. So I reregistered and seem to be stuck with the fake data.

Re (2): The site software lies! It's only your word against mine, and I say that I type in THE SAME password each time! Same problem as with electronic voting: Who knows what goes on inside the computer? And then there was Hal, the computer who lied and assassinated... So we know they are capable of this.

My little daughter realized early that solitaire against the computer was hopeless, "because the computer can see ALL the cards that are face down!"

Sorry to waste valuable time and space on this, but...there ain't no Administrator to complain to!
