No Sound - PCM Audio

Post by Midol »

Audio Format: PCM
Audio Bitrate: 1500kbs ~

It was AC3 but i decompressed it and it works fine on everything with and without AC3 codecs. It took 20 hours to encode this and half way through each chapter (There are two hour long chapters) the sound disappears. It is almost exactly half way through on both of them, each are within 2 minutes of half way.

Any reasons why:
a) it took 20 hours
b) i only get 30mins of sound in each chapter.

Thanks.

I am currently ripping the audio from the AVI files to MP3 then adding it in enhancements. It should work but i am worried about sync issues.

Your LPCM audio should be 16-bits, with a 48kHz sample rate. I think this works-out to about 1500kbs bit-rate. With that formatting, MF doesn't have to encode the audio unless you are re-coding it to AC3. (It only has to multiplex it with the video.)

I don't know it going to MP3 will help... It adds an extra encoding step, and an extra decoding step, and it's "lossy", so you're going to lose some quality.

But, anything's worth a try. :?

It did work, but it looses sync after about 30 minutes and then comes back into sync. The quality loss i didn't notice.

I am decompressing the audio on another file to see if i just screwed up the decompression hence it stopping the sound half way through.
