What the Heck? Need Burning Help!
Hey Gang, I'm new to burning DVDs. No idea or clue. Dumber than a box of rocks. I have DVD Movie Factory 3.5. I want to burn a bunch of downloaded movie mpgs etc to DVD. How/where do I start? What should I be looking for so I don't mess it up? SVCD. VCD, ? No idea. Thanks in advance from Box of Rox Newbie. Oh, the software came with the new DVD burner I bought and installed. Safe to say its an OEM version so there is no manual. Ulead only has manuals for Version 4.

It all depends on your source material. What are the properties, like frame size, frame rate etc.? Best not to do anything that forces MF to re-encode the clips. If they are DVD compliant mpg2 just drop them into the time line and author your DVD. Unless the source files are mpg1 and of a frame size for VCD or SVCD only, I would not consider these formats.
Have you tried the tutorials here: http://www.ulead.com/learning/dmf3.htm
good luck.

Recording MPGs
Heinz:
I checked the properties of the vids and most say video 2. Some of course are DIVX. If they are Video 2 are they compliant and able to be used as you mentioned? How do I tell if they are MPG2?
