CD & DVD PictureShow 3.0 Problems Problems
Has anyone successfully completed a SlideShow from start to finish including burning to a DVD? A am curious because it seems that I am unable to complete such a task. I have had program crashes on numerous attempts. I have had the program freeze. I thought I was going good one time and after seven hours of the program rendering the pictures it crashed. I have uninstalled reinstalled, installed updates. Attempted to get help from customer DIS-service. The best I got was from a Rodel Villasenor who must have a single answer for all requests. Well, I tried all his suggestions, silly me, and wouldn't you know that the program crashed again. Needless to say I am totally disappointed with the program and wish there was some way to get my money back. Screwed again.

Simple answer.... NOAlphaDood wrote:Has anyone successfully completed a SlideShow from start to finish including burning to a DVD?
And let me guess at how the answer from customer service starts...
etc etcPlease try the following steps:
1. Delete all files on your C:\Windows\Temp directory.
2. Make sure that you have enough drive space for your program files.
Remove unnecessary files and programs to free up some hard disk space.
3. Remove unnecessary files and programs to increase free space of
drive C.
Unfortunately you are not alone at being completely dissappointed a the performance of this program. A real downer for me is that the trial version worked, probably due to the small limits placed on it.
Read the threads in this forum and you will see so many people who are having similar problems, and sadly everyone would have had to pay for this priviledge.

Works for me but...
I was able to burn a 10 slideshow (approx 30 pix each). However, it took around 4 hours to burn it. The best feature I like is the option to automatically have a song match the number of pictures. It was a pain having to adjust this with version 2.
I haven't installed the 5 in 1 patch. Only the patch before that one was announced and haven't had any problems except for how long it takes to burn dvds.

PS2 was going to right direction, I was very pleased to it, so I bought PS3 right away among the others. PS3 is probably the bugiest program I've ever used. Now I've wait much too long that Ulead would fix the program. With PS3 I haven't managed to make even one working VCD or SVCD show. Guess what program I'm using now, it's not PS2 or PS3? It also works much faster than PS2 or PS3 ever and without bugs of course.

Check "An Alternative" Topic!!AlphaDood wrote:Please, please tell us which program you found. Perhaps I would like to try that one and end my frustration.

Thanks,
(I've many Slideshows which I've made with PS2, if I have to make changes to them, I use PS2 rather than PS3. I've uninstalled PS3 from my PC)

Hi Guys,
I too was having a lots of problems with DPS3. Last night I have uninstalled the K-lite codec pack and after this program worked like zooooooom. The output came crisp and clear and without any hiccups.
Please try this too.
Thanks.
AB.

Use AVICodec to see what audio/video CODECs are installed in your system. As I know some A/V CODECs will make Ulead products to be unstable.
Some of them are:
* 3ivX [version D4 4.5.1] [Encoding] (conflict with Ulead GIF Animator 5 and some other Ulead products)
* MPEG-2 decoder [Elecard demultiplexor / Ligos decoder] (conflict with Windows Media Player 9)
* .OGM.dll (conflict with Media Player)
* Morgan Multinedia Stream Switcher (conflict with Media Player)
Also make sure you have applied the latest updates and patches of DVDPS.
And I just get the information that some MSN Messanger plug-in might also have the issue, it's "MSN Shell".
Hope this helps.

I am having the same issue on two different computers. One fully loaded XPSP2 and another is a clean install of XPSP1 with nothing else installed.khaos wrote:Event log error:

Got this when it was still trying to render slideshows.

Yes, I managed to complete a show from start to finish.
On the first few attempts the program crashed shortly after I chose "New Photo Slideshow". I installed the patch but that didn't help.
Then I first organised all the pictures in three separate folders. After that I started the program up and chose the "Batch Collect" option. Imported the first batch in the first folder, no problem. Imported the second and third folder, again no problem. So in short: it worked great and all the pics were imported. Choosing a theme and background (MP3) music, transitions, all went smoothly.
Burning also worked perfectly and I ended up with a great DVD with three slideshows, just like I wanted.
Oh wait a minute, I used PS version 4, don't know if this works with version 3.
