vs8 hangs on startup

there are a few of these posts but for vs9. i have vs 8 and it crashes for me with one of those windows send/dont send errors and returns to desktop.
i have tried those clean installs with no luck and unfortuneately im full time university at the mo so i cannot format the pc so if anyone has a solution that doesnt require formatting i would appreciate it.

Give us more system information (CPU, HD space, RAM). What's your screen resolution? VS requires that your screen resolution comply with the 4:3 ratio like 1024x768 or 1280x960.

Were you able to run VS 8 before this happened? If so, did you make any system changes - added / removed software / hardware?

It has been my experience that you can ignore that error message - don't click send OR don't send - just move the box out of the way and continue working. You can continue to edit, or just save your work then close the message. Give it a try
