'include dvd player' option in movie factory4 ?

Post by orb »

Hi there

we used to use DVD movie factory 2 and it had an 'include dvd player' check box in 'output advanced settings'. However on version 4 i can't seem to find an equivalent check box.

anyone got any ideas, or had a similar problem?

or should i just go back to movie factory 2? :?

(the problem is that we need all the dvds we produce to open on any pc whatsoever, regardless of what software is on there, IYKWIM)

thanks loads in advance if you reply!

Unfortunately, that option is not available in MF4.

cheers george :-)

um - any ideas what i should do?
that option is vital to what we do (the dvds need to auto-play in *any* machine)..

(crazy i know but we can't locate the original installation exe for version 2..it was a coupla years ago that our company bought it..so having uninstalled that version tp put version 4 on, i can't get it back, and can't buy it from ulead.com cos it's been discontinued!...)

do i just give up with ulead? :-(

I am not sure if it was pulled out of MF2 for the same reason as it was from VS9, because it could not handle Dolby AC-3. What I have been able to do is copy the player from a previous DVD and used it on a new DVD. The issue is that you have to make sure you use MPEG audio and not LPCM audio. It is a little trial and error, but it can work for you if it is a necessary part of your business.

Couldnt you just copy the intervideo DVD player found on many commercial DVD's onto your hard drive and then when creating YOUR DVD include it as a "Project file". when you burn the DVD you get the option to include project files.
