DVD Workshop 2.0 Burning Failures

Post by Campaspe »

After a long and successful period of DVD creation on DVDWS I have suddenly started to experience failures, I always use TDK media so do not think it is that, my DVD Burner is a Pioneer AO5 (105) I have Ulead patches 2, 4 & 5 installed but it hasnt made any improvement.
The failures are not consistent, sometimes the first burn is OK but second and subsequent burns just dont finish, quitting at about 80%.
I have tried burning to Folders and using Nero burning DVD but its not always successful there either, Im getting a similulation burn as OK but then immediately it quits with "Power Calibration Error".
Any clues? is the Pioneer due for the bin? :(

Possibly, but try burning at ½ or ¼ of the speed your medium is rated for. Some just don't like full speed.

double posted I replied to the other one.............................
As you get the same problem with both WS and nero I think it must either be a failing drive or poor media. Just because you have always used the same make doesn't mean they can sometimes make a duff one.
Have you tried updating the drives firmware?
