Post by IRON_JOCK_STRAP »

I can't seem to be able to Trim and Save avi video's. Does any one know what I am doing wrong, or how I can fix this.. Iy always has the error that AVI video's are not a supported file format.... Anyone else have this problem and what can you do to fix it? Does any other video editing software that can trim AVI video's that you guys know of?

Thanx to all that reply..

Do you know what sort of avi this is? AVI is just a wrapper and can contain all sorts of different types, like dv-avi, the one you want and comes from capturing from a digital camcorder using firewire, RAW- very big files, divx-a compressed version etc.

As you are in the multi prupose video forum, you don't say which programme you are trying to do this with.

The easy answer to your question what it is you are doing wrong is this: I guess, almost everything.
To be more specific we would need some detail to judge by, like where does your source material come from. AVI format, as already stated in a previous post, describes it as well as Cheese describes Cheese. What software are you using on what platform?
