Failed to reuse converted cache files
While "Converting video files" ie 1/7 at the very beginning of encode process I get message, "failed to reuse converted cache files". Click OK then I get "0x800411da(4570). The program was working fine. The more I use it the worse it got. I have restored, cleaned disc, defragged, uninstalled & reinstalled. Nothing helps. I can still make slideshows but can't change menu backgrounds anywhere.

Cache?? a fix
After 2 dreded visit to Ulead tech help I got a fix. This program just will not burn like it did in the beginning. The fix is actually a bit faster I think.
(1) When you get to the final (burn) page, at the top right there is a double v button. Click it, then unclick check at top left & recheck button "burn to disc image file". You will need to click on file icon to left & tell it where to go.(I made a "disc image" folder on my hard drive in the beginning).
(2) After encoding(which still takes much time) close out of project, which takes you back to main menu. Now go to very bottom of menu and click icon that looks like disc in a clamp "Burn image file disc". Works like a dream.
New faith in Ulead for now. Hope a real fix is on the way.

Use Windows Explorer to browse the My Documents folder and search for Ulead DVD MovieFactory and then check the "3.0" folder, then delete the DMF_TEMP folder and then try again.
Also remember to install the latest updates and patches for DVD MovieFactory.
Hope this helps.

i had this message myself a couple of times.
Seems to have somthing to do with 2 files in \documents and settings\all users\application data\ulead systems\ulead dvd moviefactory\3.0
In this dir there are 2 files named uw.dat and viofmt.dat.
Delete this files and the error is gone.
This happened especially after killing the program in a "hang" situation.

The problem I had was that I wanted to write a WMV file to the DVD, but the WMV file had no audio track. I had to use Windows Media Encoder 9 to rewrite/recode the WMV file to another WMV file with sound. Once I used the new WMV file, it fixed the problem. Doing the above suggestions did not work for me. Hope this helps someone else.

I am having the same problem. I am using the 3 SE version that came with my WinTV card. Like the other users above, this software used to work fine (for the first couple of weeks) and just started having these problems for no apparent reason. The files I am trying to burn as a DVD project are MPGs that were recorded by my WinTV card. I have updated to the new versions
dmf3_hauppauge_wintvpvr_pci.exe and
dmf3_patch_e.exe
and still getting the same error. All of the files I in the project play fine in any MPG player such as WinAmp or PowerDVD.

I too had this problem, and finally worked out that there was something in the original file that was causing it, seemingly in the Audio in my case.
If I looked at the DMF_TEMP\convert directory whilst creating the disc I could see the audio file being created, and then it vanished!
I recaptured the clip and all then went well.
