Defalts to muted?

Post by jcb2354 »

I have been using mf4 for several months now and have found it to do everything I want. I have burned various DVD's in all kinds of formats with no problems.

Then, for no apparent reason I lost all sound. When I would import videos they would be completely mute. I tried importing some videos of all types (mpeg, dvd, iso, dat)that worked before and all I would get is video.

I then tried going to 'enhance video', using the tab at the top to go to audio, then muting and unmuting. THEN I get the sound as normal!

I have tried repairing the files but still get this problem, I can work around it but it's a hassel and I would like to know what I did to set it to mute as the default. (more important, how do i UN-SET it!)

Yes, I have the SAME PROBLEM. Except I wasn't aware of the work around, thanks;-) Any ideas on how to fix this?

Not a fix, but this is what I ended up doing.

I had the problem of having installed Roxio, and many years before Nero on my computer, I found that many of the extra drivers and reg entries were not removed and I assume that this was causing some of the conflicts. When I tried removing the drivers I would loose the DVD drive completly.

My final 'fix' was to back up everything, wipe the drive and start over. I have had the machine for 5 years now so I was getting funky messages in several programs, the registry was getting out of control and things were becoming painfully slow.

This did fix the problems with Ulead, except I still cannot record at over 6x without getting error messages, but that could be the media.

Best of Luck,
JCB

Me too. Being able to work around the problem is helpful, but has anyone been able to find a fix for the problem yet?
