Batch Capture missing in VideoStudio 9?

Post by johnnyringo »

hi all !

I recently downloaded VideoStudio9 as am looking to update my VideoStudio6 but it seems that Batch Capture has been taken away!
In studio 6 you can batch capture by use of F3 and F4 to define the start and
end of each clip you want to capture off the DV and then it will go thru and capture all those clips.
Is this now not possible?

best regards from London ENGLAND

This is a yes and no answer.
The Batch Capture has been replaced with DV QuickScan. It does about the same thing as Batch Capturing, however I think a little better.

DV Quickscan allows you to scan your video on your camcorder (provided you're using firewire to import) from the beginning or it's current position. Then select the scenes you want to import.

thanks for the reply videoman -

I guess the new way of capturing by scene detect has its plus points over manul batch capturing and I suppose I would opt to have both methods available if given a choice.
Perhaps though if VideoStudio6 isnt overwritten when I update to version 9, I can always go back to that for batch capture.

thanks again

VS9 shouldn't over-right any previous versions. It installs to it's own directory. At one time I had versions 5, 8 and 9 on my computer. Right now I just have versions 8 and 9. I can run either of them.
