What Daniel is saying is that with all the transitions included with VS, and Stephan's Burger's Transitions there should be plenty to work with. However check Stephan's site out, he has FX Bench, allowing plenty of creativity...

Hi

Video Studio cannot create a transition from scratch, but you can customise some transitions, not all though. Drag a transition to the timeline, look at the left properties panel, there may be some options, and sometimes a ‘customize’ button.

What effect / transition are you looking for? :?:

There is an excellent alternative to VS transitions, The Burger Transitions.

Thanks again to Stefan Burger. :D

And if you really can't find anything in the ULead or Burger transitions that suits your need then you can (apparently) create your own by downloading the SDK (free) - this is how I believe the Burger transitions were created :-)

Have a look at http://www.ulead.com/download/sdk.htm

Transition effects are small programms, so called 'Dynamic Link Libraries' or aka 'DLL'.
You can write your own transitions if you have some skills in c++ programming and also some skills in 2D and/or 3D graphic algorithms.

Some creativity and spare time is also usefull. Not to forget patience and endurance, as things almost never work at the first attempt and sometimes not even on the second or third attempt.

I forgot to mention that I've updated transition 'Marbles' to version 2.0

I implemented antialiasing algorithms that make the borders of the individual marbles smooth and clean.

If you already liked marbles, the new version ist almost a 'must'.
