PHOTOEXPRESS 1.0 > WINDOWS XP PROFESSIONAL

Post by HEXJUMPER »

i am using photoexpress 1.0 for years & years since i got the ORIGINAL program on a cd when i bought my first digital kamera sony mavica.
i had to switch to a new pc with o.s. WINDOWS XP PROFESSIONAL.

i have a problem now:

if i use the function SAVE AS = the program end abrupt and the image to be "saved as" is lost, not in temp memory too,for good.

but...
the function SAVE works normal !!
since this function just saves to the original opened imagefile = original
file is overwritten by new data ! not very usefull ofcourse if one is having to handle 100 of pix.

i liked enormously working with photoexpress 1.0 !!

what can be done to cure this problem with windows xp professional ???

email me if you think you can help me.

thanx

The exact same thing is happening to me...everything works except 'save as' which closes the program.

I am using Windows XP Home Edition.

Can anyone help?

Some more searching and I found the solution on an old post. Update to version 1.1 on http://www.ulead.com.cn/tech/pe/pe_ftp.htm and it will fix this problem.

I got my Photo Express with an Agfa 1212U scanner. To make "save as" work, first upgrade from 1.0 to 1.1 using the patch on the web, then give the .exe program Win2000 compatibility.

Try to run your program in compatibility mode in XP, that should work unless the problem is caused by a botched installation. Not sure if you can still get the upgrade to PEX 1.1 because support for this old version has long since seized.

Another possibility would be to get your wallet out and upgrade to the latest version PEX 4.
