Same Video Clip shows when dragging the jog slider..

Post by stickman »

This is my first post to this forum. So here goes.

I am working on an existing project (3min duration proj) made up of a mix of image files, movie clips(small in duration and file size). I have no more then one video filter applied to any image or movie clip.

I am working in "Project" mode and am dragging the "Jog Slider" to see the results of my latest edit.

Problem: The same image displays no matter where I drag the "Jog Slider" When I stop dragging the slider, the image or correct point in the video then displays. If I select a drag the "Jog Slider" again the displays goes back to what it was before I stopped dragging.

I don't get the problem if I switch over to "Clip" mode.

This doesn't happen when I first open the project and start using the "Jog Slider" in "Project" mode, however, when the problem does occur, the only way I can get it to stop is to completly exit out of the program and restart Video Studio and open the project again.

I'll be ok for a while, and then it happens again.

Same thing happens to me but ONLY when editing avi for some reason, the only difference being that i captured by scene.
I am using UV8.

When i capture as MPEG2 i have no such problems.

Anyone help?

Note that there are two jog sliders: one under the preview window and the other above the timeline display. Both will smoothly display fairly rapid movement through the video clip - for a while.

Then, VS9 seems to get tired (either a buffer fills up or buggy code in Video Studio gets lost somewhere in a weed patch) and the smooth display disappears, to be replaced by a display that is "stuck," as you describe, on one frame. It can be knocked loose by clicking around above and below the timeline, but it is difficult to recover the smooth action unless you quit and restart the editor.

BTW, it also happens when editing mpeg2 video.

Wow,

So I'm not going crazy.....well....anyway.

What you described is exactly what's happening and in the order it occurs. I start out fine and then at some later point it goes south....and it's Houston.....we have a problem.

And yes, it doesn't seem to matter if it's an AVI or MPG video clip the same thing has occured for both.

One thing that I neglected to mention is that there is no affect when creating a video file from the project.

I successfully burned a DVD from this project and the transitions, overlays, and video filters I applied all worked the way I intended them to.

Thanks for the quick response to my question.

You are right. This bug does not seem to cause any other problems. However, Ulead should fix it (along with many other bugs), so please send a bug report to Ulead tech support.
