PI 8SE - very slow startup

Within the last week my photoimact 8SE has been starting extremely slowly. I have tried reinstalling it on a completely clean XP SP2 system and startup is still approx 3-4 minutes. If I ctrl-alt-dlte I can see the programme is not responding. My pc keeps sending error reports to microsoft.

This app used to work fine and no other software has been installe don my system.

Anyone else have this issue? What could be the cause?
