ADDING TRANSITIONS

Post by vroman »

I have set up several movie clips and now want to add transitions between them. Do I have to do it one at a time or can I do it all in one shot? Thank you for the help

If they are in the project tray you can select them all and add to the timeline, You are then asked if you want to include overlaps and transitions plus the duration. You pick a default transitiion or random.

Doing it this way does it all in one shot

I have already placed them on the timeline. They are set to where I want them. Can I still, or is there another way to put transitions into the timeline?

If you're in MSP7 then adjust the clips on Va and Vb so that there is an overlap then drag the desired transition to the Fx track.

If in MSP8 abutt the clips on the same track then drag them until they overlap. The default transition (Crossfade) will be automatically added. The default can be changed in Preferences.

I almost always put my clips in the storyboard and use the Add to Timeline tool. It's more preciese in setting the transition duration and offers other advantages.
