Smart Proxy - Oh no! Help!

For the past week or so i've been able to smart proxy my HD Files in MSP8. Just a few minutes ago, while trying to smart proxy additional video files, the error message "Failed to open the MPEG Encoder" message appears! I can't smart proxy anymore? Help?! Please? Anyone?

update:
It happened after I installed a VFX Plugin that was made for Version 7.0. The effects worked fine, I was able to load / play / edit standard video files, but I could no longer make a smart proxy. I ended up uninstalling msp8 and re-installing. Looks like smart proxy is ok again. I just need to proxy 15 high definition files. Looks like my computer will be running all night and all day long tomorrow encoding. doh!

What plugin did you install that messed things up? This would be useful info for the dev team at the least and most likely all MSP8 users.
