It has been quite a while since I've bought "retail-boxed" software. I'm just telling you what I would do.

I prefer if it is reasonable to purchase the box edition. PI was reasonable, Nero (as an example) isn't. The book isn't all that bad, all the tutorials and extras are on the CD. Makes it easy to pop into the laptop. It's certainly not a download issue since I have 10mb at my house, but you know, windows, when it crashes, it takes everything with it. Life is easier with a real disk and a real book. Reconstructing XP after it dies and can't be set back to restore point, is a PITA., and I find that I lose my keys for downloaded software.....however, perhaps a generated key wouldn't have the issue of some fool printing and pasting the same number on a number of disks....but then there was the recent case where 110 different people won the same lottery because they played the numbers from a fortune cookie.

And thanks for the phone number, I had already printed it out pror to my original post, I get to call about lunch time since they are on PST. I actually bought the package in June, but since I may upgrade to 11 (if I see some patches posted) I want to make sure that I can get the upgrade price.
I searched the FAQ, and the message board for the subject first -- I was only trying to ascertain that I am not the only one with the problem.. I'm no nube except to this specific forum. I have been 'online' at home and usng forums since the time that everyone thought that 1200 baud half duplex was 'speedy' and a 10mb hard drive cost $500.
