Windows Media Audio files wont load

Post by dennisward »

I downloaded WMA files from MSN music to include in my masterpeice  and Video Studio rejects them. Any idea why ?
I really do not want to convert WMA files to WAV files ! The WAV files work like a champ !

Do I have to burn WMA's to a disk and and re record them into VS ?

WMA incorporates Digital Rights Management that allows the creator of the content how the file may be used. You will have to convert to a non-DRM format in order to use the file with UVS.

YES! I D/L music from MSN too. They are protected and will not work in UVS and other software that does not use the Digital Rights Management.

The solution is to burn those songs to CD-RW, then immediately RIP them back to your PC as MP3 or WMA....they will be unprotected and you can use them in UVS. I use Windows Media Player to do this.

BOY, sure wish the Create Disc tool accepted WMA! UGH!
