"save as" doesn't work - FIXED!!!

Just throwing in another thought here, is it possible that you haven't given PI any file extensions under which to "save as"?
If you don't have any extensions available there, then try changing your settings in PI's Preferences/General/Open & Save dialog box. Make sure you have "List all File Formats in Save As Dialog Box" checked. Then click OK and exit PI. The file extensions should show up there the next time you open PI.
Like I said, just throwing in another thought on the subject. If this isn't it, could you maybe post a screenshot of the dialog box?

Its not user error. Its a bug that some people are having. Ulead has acknowledged that its a problem. The dialog box does not come up when save is click. Even if the "invoke dialog box" iis not ckecked, clicking on "save" doesn't do anything. It just sits there. A screenshop would be of no help.JenT wrote:Just throwing in another thought here, is it possible that you haven't given PI any file extensions under which to "save as"?

OK, then I guess we'll just wait around until Ulead solves the problem.JAKE wrote:Its not user error. Its a bug that some people are having. Ulead has acknowledged that its a problem. So nobodys got this issue now? How did you fix it
Seriously though, I can't get help from Ulead as you need to own the product before you can submit a support question, but I'm not going to buy something which doesn't work. I own every version from 7 upwards so it looks like the upgrades stop here....

the same prob
Well i have the same problem ... saving anything in pi11 causes no action. It doesent matter which file type im choosing, ufo jpg gif or anything else -nothing helps.
Im running a clean WXP SP2 installed by an Unattend Setup Mode created with nLite. I did some OS-Modifications with nLite, so I think, that some of the tweaks causes this error, but i could not really believe that.
I also installed WXP SP2 on my second machine with an old xp unattend Setup CD with less modifications (another tool) and on this machine, PI11 saving function works fine.
Has anyone of you (with problem) changed the system folder "Document and Preferences" ?! ...

I haven't used the trial version, but is the trial version purposely "crippled"? A lot of trial versions of applications won't allow a user to save.JAKE wrote:There is no fix for this. Return it and get your money back.
Have you checked the attributes on the file you want to save? If it's "read only" I would expect the application (PI) not to let you save over the top of it.

Has nothing to do with it. Its a defect in the software that affects some users. Ulead is well aware of but it has no fix.J_fike wrote:I haven't used the trial version, but is the trial version purposely "crippled"?
