MPEG ewncoder Dolby Digital problem?

OK
I have VS 6.5, 7. 8,9 and currently have 8 and 9 installed on my computer. Not had any probelms until tonight. I tried to encode a vidoe that involved converting a MPEG aduio to DD audio. Video was on SmartRender meaning that video ocnverison wasn't a problem. I encoded a video and got the following message - MPEG encoder 2000:1:1.
I replicated the same problem in MF4? but with a different error.
Converting to another audio format is fine
The inly thing I can think has affected my installation is that I've installed photoimpact 11 and uninstalled mediastudio 8 beta edition. Anyone any ideas?

First thing I would try is to re-install VS9 in case one of the other two programs affected it in some way, especially the uninstall of MSP8.
