Post by matrix man »

hello everybody,
just now i finished capturing from my camera and editing my movie.
i burned the movie on a dvd disc using the ulead video studio 9 program and chose the following options:
1.dvd video format.
2. a menu which in it apperas all the chapters i created.
3.as i was saying before i chose the dvd video format.

when i wanted to see the movie the movie in dvd player
i saw a menu like i planned but i coudn't get into the chapters and each time i chose a chapter the dvd player was stucked.

Have you tried it in different set top DVD players? Also, how does it play on your computer. It sounds a lot like aburn issue, like burn speed or media brand. Can you give us those details and see what comes up.

after the first attempt to burn as i mentioned before, i tried to burn the same movie in a dvd+vr format without menu and it worked.
so i wonder what is the problem with what i did before.
thanks for the help.

Maybe we could judge what you may have done wrong, if only we knew what you did exactly.

you are right so it's like this.
i have a sony dv camera. i filmed using this camera a family movie.
after i finished to film the movie i captured it to the computer using a fire-wire card( the capture was made through ulead video studio 9).
after that i edited the movie to my liking.
next step i chose the SHARE reed and there i chose the "create disc" option.
in the ootpot disc format i chose the dvd,in the following two windows i did next and in the final window i chose the dvd-video recording format.

On the surface of it, it looks like you are going through the right motions. Due to lack of detail we can't really go into much more detail.

When you said you played the first burn using DVD player, was that a set top player or a software player on your PC? which DVD standard, PAL or NTSC? Project settings?

it was a toshiba dvd player sd-2700( model name)
i chose dvd pal and mpeg files in the project settings.
and another question -can i record more on a disc even after he was burned in a dvd video format?

Have you tried the disc in the computer to see if it plays in that dvd playing software. How about in other dvd players, to see if yours just doesn't like it?

yes i tried to play the movie in the computer using the power dvd program but when i press a chapter from the menu the screen of the movie disappears.
the way i see there can only be two options:
1. beacuse i chose the dvd video recording format.
2. because i chose a menu option.

If the dvd player and pc get stuck when choosing a chapter, are you sure you linked the chapters correctly?

How does the chapter button in the menu know which chapter to play? I use Workshop mainly, but you have to link the chapters to the buttons, I assume you also have to do this in Videostudio? Go back to the menu and see what is in the paylist of the chapter buttons.
