Transferring Cool 3D project to UVS8

Post by dfhawkins »

I can create a projects in Cool 3D 3.0 play back and make changes if necessary, but when I try to export them to UVS8 I get the following error message " Unable to open file - There was a failure in creating the dispatch. Please check if Ulead Cool 3D was successfully installed"
I have sent this query to Ulead over a week ago but no reply from them so far. Would you suggest just to un-install/re-install. Previous to this I have no problems transferring projects.

Hi Dfhawkins :),
This is what I've done when I received that error.
Navigate to Documents and Settings -->User Name-->Local Settings-->Temp
Delete all the files in the Temp Folder not the Temp folder itself.

You will have to be able to see Hidden Files to see the Local Settings.
In WinXP : Tools-->Folder Options--View, then check the box next to Show Hidden Files and Folders.

Then try import the file again.

Thanks Vidoman for your reply. I did as you suggested cleaned out the Temp Folder (all the files and folders) but I am still getting the same error message. Does anyone have any further suggestions??

Thanks

Thanks for your suggestions.I got a reply from Ulead tech which was a bit like the suggestion Vidoman made but he took it a bit further by suggesting after Disc Cleanup to do a Defrag then remove Cool 3D, restart my computer make sure nothing else was running and then re install Cool 3D. The first time I did this it only seemed to work partially and I kept getting some odd error messages. So I repeated the whole thing again and now it seems to be working fine.
