PI 11 Error: Cannot get URL from push file

Post by ahsicard »

I get this error, trying to open anything in the Demo.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

From the type of error you get, I presume you are trying to download the extras for the PI 11 TBYB version.

If the, atmittedly not so smart, smart download does not work for you, try to download your extras here http://www.ulead.com/pi/esd.htm

Hope this will fix your problem.

Thanks Heinz.

Nothing works. I just get that error trying to do anything. I try open a sample image, same error.

I think it might be XP service pack related. It is the only place I can find a close reference to the error message.

Do you use SP2? Does the Windows or indeed other firewall allow access to the Ulead site for the program in use?

Please let me have some more detail about the system and the OS you are using.

There have been other users reporting similar problems and error messages, some of which were fixed by setting up the firewall permissions correctly.

I would discourage you from using the "smart download" feature of PI. It has proven to be not at all smart in previous versions and many systems. Try to download your extras from the page where you got the trial version. I feel you get the error because the program tries to get content that is shown in PI but in fact not yet downloaded.

PENTIUM 3 256 MB

XP with SP2

I am going to re-format soon. I will see if it fixes things.

Unable to download Ulead content.

first go to this page: http://www.ulead.com/pi/esd.htm

Now you are at the page that points to add-on content to PI-11

The url's on this page do not work right. So right click the link and select "Open in new window" hit the red X or STOP immediately when the new browser window opens.

Edit the link so from something like this: http://ftp.ulead.com/pub/esd/pi11/e/manual_help_e.exe\

to this:
ftp.ulead.com/pub/esd/pi11/e/manual_help_e.exe

Basically remove the "http://" from the start of each link.

It will have to be done for each component, but it will work.

Thanks Blavallie.

I mostly want the software to make web pages. I found the last version decent, it does most things I need done. However, I never had any luck downloading anything, so I never bothered to purchase it. Actually, last four versions. lol

I am downloading the libraries now. Hopefully this will work. My site is quite ugly, and I really do not feel like using things such as HTML kit any longer.

I need very basic features, that are easily done.

Many thanks Blavallie and Heinz Oz!

Fully functional. Works perfect!

Now I can finally study the features and evaluate the product. You think Ulead would make this easier. lol
