Dolby AC-3 Audio

Post by banhmi »

Ulead Studio does not support Dolby AC-3 Audio. When I get movie from a DVD, I does not get the sound. What should I do to get sound. Thanks.

In order to deal with AC-3 audio, you either need Videostudio 8 with the optional AC-3 Dolby Digital Powerpack, or Videostudio 9, which comes with AC-3 audio support.

As Torsten has already indicated, you obviously don't have a version of Video Studio which works with Dolby AC-3. To give further information: the AC-3 module for VS8 costs $29.95, but you need to be aware that a lot of people had trouble with VS8 more generally, particularly with out of sync audio and video. If you have (I think) VS5 or above, then you qualify for an upgrade to the current version VS9 which, as Torsten says, comes with AC-3 support. The upgrade costs $49.95. In my view, VS9 is an excellent program, and well worth the extra $20 above the VS8 module price.

Just to add to what THoff and Ken have said. You indicated that you are trying to get the Dolby audio from a DVD. I just wanted you to know that the VS8 AC3, Digital Dolby plug-in the AC3 handling in VS9 is only 2 track. VS does not handle Dolby 5.1 or more channels.
