I was running the Cool 3D demo & was doing some titles, which I was saving as gif files with a transparent background.
Since then I've bought a new computer which had Cool 3D 3.0 bundled in with it, but I now can't save my images as gifs, or animation files as gifs - those options are simply missing from the menu (where the help file says they should be & where I was using them in the demo).
Options I have in File/Create Image File are: BMP, JPEG & TGA
In create animation files I only have "Video File" (again, no gif option)
I emailed tech support & they thought it may have been a corrupt install, so I deleted the program, checked registry to make sure they were erased (as advised by tech) & reinstalled with nothing (virus checker etc) running. Even tried running MSCONFIG to not run anything on startup before installing, still no good.
Also tried installing on the other computer that had the demo previously - same problem.
Both PCs are running XP home & I checked that .gif files are a registered file type on the new computer... other than that I'm stumped, any ideas please?
COOL 3D 3.0 - can't create .gif image file?

Thanks for the suggestions guys,
bryave - yeah that was the main point of the tech email, but it was also doing it on the brand new computer that never had the demo loaded.
rwernyei - no I'm sure the demo I had was v3.0. Just had a look in the help file on my program & it's talking about "new features in 3.0" one of which is more options in saving gif animations
Thought I'd try the update pack you suggested, but that comes up with an error saying "can't find Cool3D v3.0... this pack will not install with trial... any version you may have received with a hardware product or v1, 2 or 2.5"
So it looks like I've got a "lite" version or something?? It doesn't say anything different on the splash screen or in Help/About Cool 3D... just calls it version 3.0
Weird. I might try tech support again, see if they know anything about the versions being packaged with hardware. If all else fails I can try upgrading to full version 3.5 I suppose
