Hi there
Andyone know of a way to use straight lines while using the smart lasso tool, ive found several times that while tracing around an object, say a portrait where the bottom on the image is staright, i end up with a jagged edge, is there a way to get a straight line across the bottom without the smart lasso trying to ''snap to'' other patterns, i know that both photoshop and also paintshop pro have this ability, where is it in PI ??

Smart Lasso and Straight lines
I haven't found a way to do it when the little smart lasso box is checked. It goes where it wants to go. I seldom check it myself. I like to make my selection while holding down the CTRL key. Seems to do a pretty good job.

Use the bezier curve tool with the "free" option selected. You can hold down the shift key and the tool with create a straight line. The bezier curve tool is different from the lasso because you must click continuously as you trace, but I found I get better traces with the bezier curve tool as oppose to the lasso.
Hope that helps.
