MF4 and nero 6 problem
I have just bought a Philips DVDR16LS (Lightscribe) dual layer dvd burner which comes with Nero 6, At the same time (and same shop) I bought MF4. I love the effects and the menu layout and I spent ages making a project with slide shows and videos set to music etc... When I came to save it on a Philips DVD+RW lightscribe DVD it will get to 75% and then tell me that "burner is busy for another application". If I click OK another box comes up saying "Driver not ready". I have no other applications open except windows XP (not online or anything). I read somewhere about removing InCD, so I did that but still get the same message. I've also tried just putting single photos on with no transition effects but the same thing happens. Any ideas on how to get it working? I'm trying to burn a video of my daughters christening to send to people with the thank you cards.
Any help would be appreciated

dwz files
DVDDoug wrote:The above should do it. I've never actually made an image file, but I've used Create DVD Folders which creates the DVD-like "AUDIO_TS" and "VIDEO_TS" folders on your hard drive. When you get to the burn options, uncheck Record To Disc.
Check either Create DVD Folders or Create Disc Image File.
help I have this same problem with a wedding video I am trying to make. I did the save to hard drive and I have those files but... Nero still will not see them or burn the disc I worked a month getting it just right and now nothing I have will open the file except movie factory and i believe it will never work, I have tried clicking and unclicking buttons til i doubt it i can ever get it open again.

Nero of course will not see the *.dwz files, as they are Ulead's Proprietary files. However what Nero should recognize are the files in the Video_TS folder. The files should be VOB files.
If a disk image was created then the file to look for would have an *.iso extension.
Sorry I don't have Nero, so I don't know the path/procedure to go through to import a VOB or ISO...

After following the above procedures to create a DVD on your Hard Drive.
Open Nero, Select the DVD option as opposed to the CD option.
Select the DVD template and a windows explorer like display appears.
In the right hand section navigate to your newly created Video_TS Folder.
Click one of those files to select it, then right click and "Select all"
Now drag them over to the left hand pane into the folder which is RED in colour.
Now burn. It is also a good idea to select a burn speed of 4x or less.
I have found that burning above 4x produces a DVd that is not recognised by all stand alone DVD players as some are a bit picky about the quality of the disc.

I have MF 3.0SE that came with ADS Express. I also have NERO 6.6 installed and had similar problems with burning. I solved the problems by ending the INCD process. Apparently INCD holds your burner captive when it is running in the background. To end INCD, do the following:
Hit Ctrl-Alt-Delete, select "processes" tab, highlight "InCD.exe* and hit the "end Process" tab at the bottom right. Once you end this process, you should have no problems burning from MF.

NOt a solution
I have the same issue but I do not have NERO installed. This is not a solution to the problem. THe software seems to do this even without any other DVD authorizing software installed. It is ridiculous to have to burn outside of the applicaiton. Does anyone else have any other ideas? In my opinion, this issue renders the software 100% useless.

I couldn't agree more with you. It may be more of a windows operating system
problem allowing conflicting software to be installed on the system.
But why don't I have problems burning with MF or Data-Add or Nero?
I use them all the time. They work on my machine(s).
There are many programs that conflict with each other for burning dvd/cd's.
"Roxio Drag To Disk"
"Nero InCD"
"Ulead Data-Add"
"Ulead Quick-Drop"
"Ulead Quick-Launch"
"Sonic DLA"
"Windows media player burning application"
Any other automatic launching software such as camera sofware
that automatically launches when you insert a cd to transfer pictures etc.
The list of conflicting software is very long.
If one installs "Nero" "Sonic DLA" "Drag 2 Disk"Do Not install them. Remove them from the machine unless you really need them and
understand how they work.
MF4 Disc Creator comes with many programs. It's a complete burning
suite.
To make dvd's or CD's for video you don't need to install
Quick-Drop
Data-Add2
Ulead Quick Launch program.
To see a list of any programs that can conflict with burning.
Open up "My Computer".
Right-Click on the dvd burner and select "Properties".
Look at the Tabs for "Data-Add" and any other programs that access
the dvd/cd burner. (InCD, Drag2Disk,Kodak,Canon,auto-launcher(s))
Also, when right-clicking on the dvd writer LOOK for any references
to burning applications such as InCD, Data-Add etc.
The windows burning application can also interfere.
To disable that go to the "Windows Media Player" -> Tools -> Options.
(Or, under the Properites of the burner).
The reason these programs conflict they all monitor the dvd/cd drives.
InCD monitors the drives
Data-Add monitors the drives
Quick-Drop uses the drives
Monitor (ulead quick launch) monitors the drive.
Roxio "Drag 2 Disk"
"Sonic DLA"
AutoLaunching software (Kodak, Canon etc).
You may have other software that monitors the dvd drive.
Roxio "Drag To Disk" conflicts with InCD, Data-Add, Quick-Launch, "Sonic DLA" etc.
(redunant).
What do the above programs DO?
They allow a person to put a dvd or cd in the burning drive and use
it as as removable media. Having the ability of "Right-Clicking" on a
data file and using the "Send" menu to send the file to the dvd/cd.
Also you can drag & drop files to the dvd/cd using windows explorer.
That is called "Packet Writing". Dvd/cd's must be "Formatted" first
before you can packet write (drag & drop) to them.
"Packet Writing" and the above programs have nothing to do with
burning audio cd's, data backup, video dvds, mp3 files.
You can always use burning applications/programs to create and
burn dvd/cd's for audio,video & data.
The ulead "Data-Add" Program installs the packet writing software along with the burning applications.
To disable the packet writing in data-add you right-click as above
and "Disable" packet writing on that drive.
Hope this helps,
