Post by bronx »

Workshop always crashes my system when creating and ISO image or create disk.

My system:
Windows XP Home sp2

Does anyone know what may be the cause?

Thanks.

At what point does it crash -- before/after the *.iso image is created? During a burn to disc?

What are the complete properties of your source videos :?: How did you capture them to your hard drive :?:

Thanks for the reply.

DWS crashes when I click "create iso image". My whole system crashes.

The files were from DV avi, captured with videostudio 9 and encoded to mpeg files with videostudio 9.

What template did you use in VS9 to create your mpeg files? mpeg-1 or mpeg-2, resolution, framerate, bitrate, audio type?

Which version of DWS are you using? Full, Express, SE, Trial, etc...?

In the EDIT step of DWS 2.x, under the VIDEO and AUDIO tabs is an option to "Convert to disc Template" -- is that option greyed out, or can you put a check mark in it? If you can put a checkmark in that box, I would leave it blank to use your source files As Is (without any re-encoding).

Also, will your dvd be larger than 4gb? if so, then your hard drive must be formatted NTFS in order to handle an image file larger than 4gb.

I will have to check this later on tonight do not recall it being greyed out.

It shows the file at 3.7 gigs. My harddrive is NTFS.

I should have mentioned earlier that it is my first time using the software.

720 x 420 is illegal format for DVD. Make it 720 x 480. I suggest you also encode the audio at AC-3 2.0 192 kbit/s

Why not import your AVIs into WS2 and let it do the encoding?
