Using a simple capture device I get good sound with Windows Movie Maker using the "line in" source on my sound card.
However with VideoStudio I get no sound unless I use the "MIC" input. This would not be so bad except the sound is much reduced in quality.
How can I get the program to recognize my line in input.
The audio source window ONLY shows my sound card and cannot choose which input.
(Windows Movie Maker automatically finds and records from the line in.)
Thanks
Audio Mic-in works but Line-in doesn't

The Windows Mixer has both a Playback, and a Record window. The exact steps may vary depending on your version of Windows.
Double-click the speaker/volume control in the lower right area of your screen. This should open the Windows Mixer.
Select Options, select Record, select Line-In. Unlike the playback-mixer, with most soundcards, you can select only one input at a time... you can't actually "mix" during record.

As I mentioned. This problem is NOT related to the Windows Mixer.
I am very familiar with it.
It has to do with the ULEAD software. It only gives the choice of sound input as my sound card.
All of my other capturing software give me the choice of line-in or mic-in.
So if this is a feature left of of the Ulead software I need to know.

AFAIK Ulead VS9 allows voice over recording directly into the program. So therefore it will not have a line-in option. If you're wanting to record music try using a program like Audacity it will allow you to record your songs and export it to several different formats. such as wave (wav) or mp3. Then you can import it into VS9 to use with your video.
Hope that helps.
