color and gradient fills

I have recently downloaded a trial version of photoimpact 10 and have a problem. Steps as follows:

1. I create a box, or circle and choose a fill colour.
2. I add a fade or gradient fill

The problem I have after this is that each new shape or oject that I create automatically gets filled with this gradient and I cannot find a way to reset it to a solid fill? This even happens if I create a new document. The only way I can reset it is to close the program and reset it.

Is there a way to reset it to solid fill? I have selected reset from the colour picker but this does not help.

When you make another selection, are you using the same image? If so, the problem may due to tha fact that that Photoimpact thinks your are adding to your original selection; meaning that it is replicating the fill or gradient you originaly applied.

Try checking your "selection" settings so each selection is seperate.
