PhotoImpact Ver. 11 System Requirements????

Post by darbgene »

Ammended 11th October 2005
Be carefull and check your Computer system setup [Windows] against the requirements for the PhotoImpact Ver. 11
-------------------
After downloading the Ver. 11, I found would not install on my computer ["Windows ME"]. At the start of installing the program I received a message = only supports Windows XP or Windows 2000".

Be carefull the "System Requirements" as shown on the "Buy" page [Just under the PhotoIpact Icon] suitable for Windows 98/ME/Xp .... appear to be not correct??
Have a look within the "System Requirements" link [Shown on another related page RH side Menu] = "Box Version" for Windows 98 SE, 2000, Me or XP = "Download version" being suitable for Windows 2000, XP

So, after this it looks like I have only two options left?
[1] Keep using PhotoImpact Ver. 10 and the find someone to puchase my downloaded vesion of Photoimpact 11.
[2] Go out and purchase a New Computer with Windows XP and make sure the purchase exceeds all specifcations and especially the RAM exceeds the 256 MB of RAM

Now you must have a read of the requirments between the the variations of the "Boxed" and "download" programing

Regards
Why is there a difference???

Ulead Web Page shows =

600 MB available hard drive space for program and content files
True Color or Hi-Color display adapter with 800x600 resolutions or higher
-----------------------

CD-ROM Drive
256 MB of RAM or more
600 MB available hard drive space for program and content files

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Hope the above may enlighten the people who are going to purchase the program?

I bet it's related to some digital rights management that's only available in W2K and XP. I noticed that the download version requires product activation over the net but the boxed version doesn't.
