Resolution variation

Re: PictureShow3 - I have experienced that the resolution of VCDs employing transitions and zooming is degraded noticeably compared the same show without the transitions and zooming. My question is "Is the same thing true if the program is burned as a DVD?"

Yes that would be same with DVDs. Images would be converted to DVD resolution standards that has 720x480 (NTSC) or 720x576 (PAL). And when effects are added, it'll degrade its quality since the effects will have to properly match with the images. :D

resolution problems

So is there a way around this? The software shouldn't compromise the quality of the pics to add transition and pan/zoom. That's what we're paying for. Any ideas?

The differance between Slide shows with motion effects on VCD and DVD are like night and day.

Your DVD's will be much better.

I haven't even burned a VCD or a DVD. I'm seeing the difference just in the playback before I've burned. I downloaded the ARCSOFT product demo and saw no such resulution problems and a much better pan/zoom option. I'm cuttin' bait. Thanks for the reply though.

That is only during preview. You'll see the difference after you've burned your project as to either VCD or DVD onto your player. :D
