Inserting Different DVD format content to the Timeline VS9

I have recently been trying to insert clips from DVD NTSC and DVD PAL source DVD's to the VS9 timeline. When the clips are imported and inserted on the timeline the DVD NTSC will play as a clip or in the Project preview. However if I try to do the same with the Clips from the DVD PAL source they play in the clip but will not play in the timeline and the thumbnail is the black and white strip you get when a clip cannot be linked or VS cant find the source.

Any ideas how I get clips to play in the timeline and allow me to edit them

I would suspect the different standards are to blame. Convert all to NTSC or PAL first. Match your project settings to the clip properties.
