Installing ??? = PhotoImpact Ver. 11 on Windows ME

Post by darbgene »

Ammended 11th October 2005
I sent [last night] this message to Ulead Support RE =
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Last night after I viewed the "System Requirements" for PhotoImact 11 and found on the "Buy" page [Shown just under the PhotoIpact Icon] that it was suitable to install on my computer running "Windows ME" so I went ahead and purchased the "Download" version of the "New Photoimpact 11".
This morning I went to install and on installing I was informed it only supports Windows XP or Windows 2000.
Went back into the Ulead Web Site and noted this morning within the "System Requirements" link [Shown on another related page RH side Menu] = "Box Version" for Windows 98 SE, 2000, Me or XP = "Download version" being suitable for Windows 2000, XP
So be carefull there is difference between the Downloaded version and the Box version???
I have sent a request = Re what is the difference between Boxes and Download versions, why the difference??? and is there any way I can install on a Windows ME??? Or do I have to go out and buy a computer with Windows XP?? =To date I have not received a reply???

Your comments please

Don't feel to bad it doesn't work on XP either

I purchased PI-11 online, @ start it crashes with an app "error signature" . Not so "Smart Download" won't download updates and is no mention of ver.11 on the support site.
 I'm hanging on to ver 10 for now.

The web site says the download version requires product activation over the net, but not the boxed version. So I'm guessing there is some kind of digital rights management available in W2K and XP that's involved with that but isn't available in earlier versions of Windows. Just a guess.
