If that is, in fact, their "official" position, it could explain a lot!
I find it very difficult to believe however, that they could actually think that the price of a particular software package determines whether or not it should do what it is advertised to do. Surely that would be false advertising at best and theft at worst?
e.g. - I have the complete Corel WordPerfect Office 12 Home Edition suite that cost $30 less than UVS8 does ($69 vs $99)

. It includes the latest versions of WordPerfect (WP), QuatroPro (spreadsheet), PhotoBook, PhotoAlbum, Encyclopedia Britannica 2005, a CD/DVD music program and Norton Antivirus 2005. Certainly a far richer suite of software than UVS8 provides - and it all works flawlessly with great support!
If I was Ulead, I'd fire that turkey you got on their help line and use the money they save on his salary to make this product do what they say it's supposed to!
