"Convert Step Got Some Problems" Error 4102

Post by jangardiner »

"Convert Step Got Some Problems" Error 4102 when trying to write an .iso file or create a DVD. This is the same error as another post, but mine came up only now that I have upgraded to MSP8. The exact same project file that did not cause errors with MF4 now DOES cause this same error now that I have MSP8.

1. I have plenty of disk space for temp files.
2. My file is way under 4GB although I am using NTFS in any case.
3. I had created .MPGs with MSP7. I had originally added one more .mpg made with MSP8, but I removed that, thinking it might be the problem. I also tried a single .mpg made with MSP8. No luck either.
4. It is nothing to do with Divx.

Ideas? On the surface, it sounds like some conflict between MF4 and MSP8, but I confess I'm not technical enough to know what to try next. It's a shame because I was excited about MSP8 until I couldn't write anything to either an .iso file or DVD.

Any help much appreciated, especially since I haven't heard a word from support. :-(

Thanks.

I have tried also the following:

1. Started a new DMF project, added a simple .avi. Tried to burn to .iso. This time got "Convert step got some problems" but with an error 4101 instead of an error 4102.

2. Tried a simple .mpg made by MSP8. Same but error 4102 again.

3. Tried also with .wmv and it progressed some but then an error 4703. Unspecified error, Report ID 0x8004125f(4703).

This burn log says, near the bottom:

Engine PreCheckMediaStatus Succeed
Engine finish CheckCache action
Engine CheckAnyConvert Succeed
Engine finish all pre-check action
Engine OnRunBtn_Base Succeed
Leave (Success case) Normal_Pre_test_in_run_burn_action

Engine start run OnDoBurnAction

title 0 : source file name: C:\Video\Rome 01-2005\Test2\Test2.wmv
title 0 : converted file name:
=====Enter CuBurningTrdBase::CreateDVD()=====
=====Leave CuBurningTrdBase::CreateDVD()=====

Engine OnDoBurnAction Fail
=============================

I cannot burn anything at all to an .iso (or DVD) and all my video projects have come to a complete halt. :-(

I have lots of disk space and have been doing everything the same way for years, except that I recently upgraded to MSP8. Was there any update of DMF that was required to work with MSP8? My version seems to be DVD MovieFactory 4.03 when I look at the version of the launcher, but after I go in to create a new project, the about screen shows an MSP8 leopard photo and says it is version 4.2.

I'm very confused and feeling hopeless. Any help would be much appreciated. Support has still not answered my pleas for help.

Thanks.

.AVI properties

I just realized I should have included this:

Frame rate - 29.970 Frames/sec
File size - 68,429 KBytes
Data rate - 3512.11 kbps
Compression DV Video Encoder - type 1
Attributes 24 Bits, 720 x 480, 4:3
Audio Compression - DV Audio - NTSC
Attributes 48.000 kHz, 16 Bit, Stereo

The AVI was originally captured with MSP7

Thanks again.
