WMV-HD?

Post by ten18 »

Well, now that I'm able to capture and edit HDV footage in MSP8  I would like to try outputting in WMV-HD. Unfortunately, I can't seem to do it with the trial version of 8 that I have. The template for 1080/30p is definitely there, but the profiles associated with it are all low-bandwidth WMV8 profiles. Has anyone tried to output in this format? Seems like a good way to archive HD footage and still be able to view it on a HTPC.

9001 kbps WMV9 is available here. Select WMV as the filetype then select from the Templates menu then enter Options and select Ultra quality.

I can only find Windows Media 8 profiles on the list. . .the largest frame size is 320 X 240. . .am I missing something? Is there a plug-in I need?

Was there a link in your message? Thanks for your help.

Do you have Windows Media Encoder 9 installed?

Well, I suppose you would need WM9 Encoder to encode WM9 video. . .I can't believe I didn't think of that! My system did have the encoder installed at one time when I was experimenting with streaming video over the network, but everything's since been reinstalled.

Thanks so much for your help. I'm in business now!!
