DMF3 - strange DVD behaviour

Post by paulus »

I have created a DVD with two files - one being VERY large (~3.5GB) but both comfortably sit on the DVD. I (as yet) have no chapters - just a two item menu. The disk created runs fine on my PC and on my daughter's TV/DVD combo - but on my NEW DVD recorder it won't.

What happens is that the menu appears and I can switch between items, but once either is selected the menu freezes and the machine locks (hung). The only way to get it to play is using the System Menu and selecting either the 1st or 2nd "chapter" then it plays the relevant menu item!!!

Am I missing some setup item? Or is my DVD recorder at fault?

if it worked on other players then maybe your DVD recorder is at fault here. check if your dvd recorder supports the media format of the DVD you created.

It certainly does - and plays many other disks created by DMF3 - its just this one with one very large file. I have asked the question of the manufacturer (Daewoo) - but as yet no response, in the mean time I was just wondering whether I had missed some "compatability" setting or other?
