Hi Franky :)

This is not uncommon for VS9 to crash like this when you are running several other applications in the background.
Without more information, like your system specs, method of capture (usb, firewire, composite), capture properties (DV-AVI, MPEG) help is rather limited.

But to start with try closing instant messenger, AVG, and most of the applications running.

I try to close most of running applications, didn't work neither...

there is what i done from here ;

I de-reinstall the program and the Update patch available on the Ulead site.

Normaly i capture on DV mode. The program crash when i hit capture properties to...

Look for new pilot for my firewire card(Startech), and try 2 other pilots

And still cant capture anything ?

My computer :

PIII-800 with the most memory i can use (More than 1G)
40G HD with 2 parts + 1 ext disc (120G)
running on Windows 2000 Pro NT

What else can i say...

Sorry cannot read French BUT if its the error I think it is, have you any other video capture devices attached such as a webcam.

If so please try to disconnect the other devices, close and re-start VS9 then turn on your camcorder.

The message said that vstudio.exe have generated an error and will be close by Windows. You will have to restart the program. A error log is created ok (I hope the only good translation here is only *OK* :-) )

I have no webcam on my computer but i will check if any settings have change.

Another thing, normally, when my camcorder is off when i open VS9, a message appear to say that there is no device pluged in and when i turn it on a message apear to say it. But now, no message poping up ?

The first thing we need to establish is if your computer is detecting your camcorder. If you are using Windows XP you will have Windows Movie Maker - it is a part of the Windows XP system.

See if Windows Movie Maker detects you camcorder and if so can you capture from that program?

Yes, my camera is detected. I can see image from my camcorder if i use the Dv quick scan mode but cannot capture from it.

I de-install and download the program again and re-install it. Same problem, all my windows components is up to date, HD are freshly defragmented, anti-virus, anti-spyware was scanned, try running it with the less background program running, i change the setting in my system as recommanded... Im not using Xp but Win2000pro

Aha I think I know the answer to this one, at the top left of your screen (as per your screen shot above) The drop down box "Format", try a different mode. Try DV or AVI

See if this 'fixes' it

OK... i change my firewire card, VS8 was included with the package, i can capture video and it seems to run just fine.... tried it with the 9 version, same problem, the problem is in the dowloaded program (Download twice to be sure) 60 $ trown by the windows... + 50$ for a brand new card....

Thanks all for your hints... Hey by the way, if you wanna see some of my videos, take a look at : www.charest.qc.ca/fpaquin !

Im in contact with cut. service of Ulead, cant wait to see if they gonna find my trouble with VS9
