menu page

Post by ajcvideo »

First time posting and longtime user. Great to be on board. I am using DVDWS2 and have a question. Is it possible to put the same menu page with buttons twice on the same timline? For instance the customer puts DVD in player and menu page comes up. When DVD is finished can that same menu page automatically pop up again? The reason for this is that I have two seperate mpeg files on timeline and the only way to activate that second file is to go to that second menu page and hit the button on that menu. I hope the explanation wasn't to confusing.

Much obliged,

Hi Ara,

You hope in vain I'm afraid

Your question is very difficult to understand, however, I shall try my best.

As far as I'm aware, when you have created a menu in DVD Workshop and assigned any button to play a movie, it's default playlist will include the menu from which it came - i.e. when the movie is finished it will automatically go back to the menu you created.

If you only create one menu, the DVD player will default back to this menu when it has finished playing your movie.

If you wish the second movie to play automatically, you can copy and paste the first menu to an identicall second menu and have that menu automatically trigger the second movie after the first has finished.

Like I said, I'm not entirely sure what your question is, so if this isn't the answer you were looking for, consider a more in-depth detailed question.

I too am a little uncertain about your question but....

When you create a play button it has a playlist. You can drag a menu onto that playlist so that instead of returning to the menu containing that button, you can instead go to a different menu.

Then there is the option to specify a default button and a default timeout duration. Here you can say after 20 seconds (or whatever time you wish) you want the program to activate button number xx

You can even make that default button invisible. I did this recently with a charity video for my local pub. the result was a sequence showing some forthcoming events and raffle prizes that simply played endlessly and was projected on the pub's big screen.

To all who responded. With both explanations I was able to rectify the problem. It was right under my nose. Thanks!
