Flakey Software

Post by grampi@chartermi.net »

:( For many years your PhotoImpact software has been a leader in the digital imageing software busines, second only to Adobe Photoshop. PhotoImpact is brillant and never fails :D . Your venture into DVD authoring has been a miserable failure. All of this catagory of software is flakey and full of bugs, and is nothing but trouble even when it works, which seems to be seldom anymore. You have omitted features in DVD MF4DC that I realy liked in DVD workshop and DVD MF#DC. You would think that after 4 versions you would learn how to get this thing right. The only conclusion that I can come to is that you must have hired high school drop outs to do your programing for you now :? . I am looking for a replacement software before I get to far into my project. Any sugestions anyone?

DVD Movie Factory is the cheaper less frills DVD creation program.
DVD Workshop is the far more expensive more frills DVD creation program.

If DVD Movie Factory could do everything that DVD Workshop could do, what would be the point in forking out the extra pennies?

Only MF4 is a duff product, MF3 is fine (although its about time ulead made a product that can be updated rather than replaced - as the only thing missing from mf3 is ac3 support). MF4 is slow and buggy and when a new version comes out they should give registered users a free upgrade! I can't believe they still sell it because (and a load of people will comment that it works fine on their pc) there are too many people having problems with it for it to be considered a stable program.

If Ulead read this (yea!), how about an upgrade for MF3 for AC3 support?

random curtains = transition?

There is no export movie to mpeg in DMF3. DMF3.5SE started to have this and DMF4 still has it.
