Hey guys,
I'm new to all this, so please bear with me. I just purchased the AVerMedia DVD EZMaker Pro USB2.0, which came with VideoStudio 7se and DVD MovieFactory 2se, and I see on Ulead's site that there's a VS 9 and a MF 4 update.
My first question is, are the software versions supplied with the EZMaker Pro the only versions that will work with it? if not, then will the MF 4 update work to update the version I have?
Second, I currently use Nero 6.6 Ultra Edition, AnyDVD, and QuickTime 7 Pro and I was wondering if anyone has had any conflicts with any of these apps and MovieFactory?
Last, the main reason I bought the EZMaker is to convert all of the VHS-C tapes I have of my son to DVD, and since I'm totally new to this I would appreciate a link(s) to any known user guide(s) for MovieFactory, VideoStudio, and the whole general process of capturing/converting using what I have.
Thanks.
Need info on Update
The new full-versions should work for you, but some users have reported that although the SE version works with the supplied hardware, the standard version does not. (The analog capture is the trickiest part of this whole tricky process!)
The worst case is that you'll have to use the software that came with your capture device for capture, but you can use different (or newer versions) for video editing & DVD authoring. (I use the non-Ulead software that came with my capture card for capturing analog video.)
So, download the Trial Versions and the User's Manual, and give 'em a try.
You may have a conflict with Nero (or any "packet writing" software). In that case you can either unload the conflicting software, or create the DVD folders (or image) on you hard drive with Movie Factory, and then use your regular burning software for the final burning step.
Here are Ulead's Tutorials.
