Hi,
I can´t record an off-tone to my video. My soundcard is activated, the mic is in the right port, but there´s no voice to be heard. I´m working with VideoStudio 8.o on an Iunus PC. Please help me, if you can. But as you can read, I´m not a native speaker, so pleas use simple words. Thank you so far.

Is it a voice over you want to record?
That is to record your voice and add it to your movie?
If so, you need the microphone plugged into the microphone input of the sound card, not the line in.
You need to ensure that the micropone input is selected in the windows volume control.
See here for instructions as to how to do that.

I ran into one problem when I tried to record voice near my computer: The mic picked up computer fan noise. Not to mention the seemingly-thousands of times I cleared my throat.
I record my voice-over separately, edit the audio file to get rid of unwanted noises, then just drag it onto the voice-over track.

Firstly go back to the volume control as per the link above.kebrinton wrote:I ran into one problem when I tried to record voice near my computer: The mic picked up computer fan noise. Not to mention the seemingly-thousands of times I cleared my throat.

Now check the recording level, I think you probably have it to high, try moving the slider down.
