Interference on Audito Tracks VS9

Post by Winifred »

In playback before creating a video file the audio tracks are fine. When created to video file, there is a hissing and crackling noise throughout the voice and the music tracks, especially on the base. It appears to pick up any little sound from the originally captured tape, but this is not evident in playback when you are authoring your project at all. Any ideas. This has only just started happening.

When you say "tape," do you mean that your sound originates on a tape-recording?

Or do you mean videotape (digital)?

If your audio comes from audio tape, you could run it through an audio editing program (like free Audacity, or costly Sound Forge) and remove hiss and crackle.

The sound on a particularly bad created DVD came from an inserted audio file from my library, plus a sound file that I created from another piece of video (I split the sound and created a sound file in vs9). By tape I mean the video and audio that's captured initially at the beginning of a project from my camcorder. It just seems odd that during the editing process there is no evidence of the interference in sound, but when you create a video file before burning to disc the hissing and crackling spoils the finished project. Also strange is that is has only just started happneing. Mind you I used to capture video using MyDVD which I edited in VS9, but the video was a grainy compared to the quality of vdeo you get with VS9. When I create a video file from the options given I always choose "same as video settings", perhaps maybe I should choose another option. Do you use this option?

I have never heard of the two programs you mention

Am grateful for your time.

Interference on audio track in finished video

Post by Winifred »

I have solved my problem by splitting the audio on the timeline and creating an audio file in VS9, and then runing it through Wavepad which I downloaded free from:
www.nch.com.au/wavepad

The finished product is now free from all hissing and crackling.

Boy, they can send a man to the moon. There sure are a lot of hoops to jump through just to make a darned DVD ... aren't there. <Whew>

Good to see you fixed your situation.... Do these high end NLEditor programs fix all this stuff for you from within the program? I mean, are lots of these situations caused by the fact that these are consumer based entry level editing programs?

thanks,
dcp
