DVD MovieFactory 4 - Can't Get It to Capture!

I have just installed the latest version of MovieFactory 4; my system is above the requirements, but I cannot get it to capture. It will play OK, but as soon as I click capture, it goes for 30 secs and stops. I installed a 300gb external hard drive to use as a work space. I have disabled by virus and internet security, but still no good. Did I waste my money? I would love to be able to get it to work. Anyone else have this problem?

Have you reset the Working Folder (left icon of row of icons on the opening screen) to one on your 300G drive, or are you runnning out of space on the default C: drive.

I have set the work folder for the new 300GB drive. My C drive has 81GB of free space. I am capturing the video from an Avio editor via SVHS through an ADS Pyro A/V link that is firewired into the computer. The video plays OK in Movie Factory, but as soon as I click on capture, it goes for about 30 secs and then freezes up. Thanks for any help you can give. This is driving me crazy besides all the time I am spending on it.
