Importing DVD audio with video

I have a DVD which I made from another program because it's compression is wonderful... I thought Workshop usually imports the audio WITH the video...

This time when importing from DVD, on the edit menu you can right click on the thumbnail in Workshop and it shows properties - here it does show audio and video are present. But when you double click on the thumbnail - which puts it in the viewing area - there is no audio.

Oter videos with audio - the thumbnail also shows a little square in the right hand lower corner of the thumbnail which has a musical note. This is not present in the thumbnail in this instance - even though the properties say there is audio there.

I have tried starting a new project and importing the video/audio again... and it still will not play the audio.

Other DVDs made with same equipment work fine on import

Again - I AM NOT MAKING A DVD YET WITH ULEAD - I'm still in the importing video process.

You said you created that DVD in another program, what are the sound properties?

Without any technical details about your system, the project settings and relevant file properties, it's impossible to give any meaningful advice.

Is not the video + audio bitrate higher than the permissible for DVDs? In any case, very few set-top players will handle such a bitrate combination. I recommend you try by reducing the video bitrate to <7000 kbit/s and the audio to 192 kbit/s (I suppose it's 2.0) and report the results.
