Terrible problem with using animation with digit photos

Some of the digital pictures that I upload to my movie end up look terrible when I add animation such as zooming in. Some areas of the pictures start flashing, moving or get pixellated. It's especially noticeable if the picture has something a building or structure in it, or if water is in it. Is there a way to prevent this from happening? It also happens to pictures that I scan in.

I have the same problem and I dont find a way to solve it.

VS just takes your digital still and magnifies the picture for the zoom effect in much the same way a digital camera uses its digital zoom, not optical. VS is just cropping your picturte and then enlarging the result to fill the frame which leads to a much lower quality picture.

...though you should only notice the lower quality if the original digital photo was of low quality to start off with...
