Problems with Videostudio 9SE and sound

Post by iceman_oz »

Hey, I'm new here, so excuse me if this has been covered before.

Basically I got VS9SE with a TV Card I recently purchased as bundled software, anyway, I have since recorded a program that I wanted to put on DVD, the audio works fine in Windows Media Player 10, but when I put it in VS9 I get clear video but absolutely no sound.

I've tried a couple of solutions that were already posted including the one with burning the DVD anyway because sound may still work, but it didn't.

I'm running XP with Service Pack 1, 256 MB of RAM. The recording wasn't in High Definition, just standard digital.

Does anyone have any advice or a solution?

All I can say is this: You must have done something wrong.

Sorry that I can't be more specific but, due to the wealth of information you have supplied us with, there is only so much one can guess.

How did you record the footage, what format, system spec's etc. etc.

Well I've actually just went back and recorded something off a different station, it works perfectly with sound, so I don't know if theres a problem with the file or else find out what's different between the two stations.

If it is the file does anyone know of any way (program or otherwise) to check the file for errors and remove any?

Seems I found the problem, this particular footage is in Dolby Digital whereas the other is in MPEG Audio...

It's the only major difference regarding audio between the two files.
