Trying to delete MF4 so I can reinstall

Post by Maureen »

I have Roxio 7.5 which has DragtoDisc which I found out has a conflict with Movie Factory 4. I've deleted Roxio because I couldn't find out how to delete just the DragtoDisc program. Now I'm trying to delete MF4 so that I can reinstall but I keep getting the error that MF4 DragtoDisc is running in the background and I can't remove until it closes. How do I shut it off :x

There are a couple of ways to accomplish this.
  • Bring up the Task Manager, (Ctl + Alt + Delete)
    Click on the Processes tab
Look for and Highlight the application
Click on the End Process button
That should terminate the program so you can uninstall it.

You can also go to the Windows Configuration utility. This is assuming that you are running Windows XP.
  • Go to Start->Run
    Type in msconfig
That opens the Windows Configuration Utility.
Go to the Start Up tab
    Locate the application
Clear the checkmark by clicking on it
    Click Apply
    Click Close
You will have to reboot for the change to take affect.
Now the application should not start and run (unless you manually start it) and you should be able to uninstall the application.

Hope that helps :)
